Have you ever wondered why you asked God to heal you, prayed all night long about it, quoted scripture over and over, but you remained sick? You probably thought that God didn’t hear your prayers and so you ended up going to the doctor for help, thinking God let you down. Well friends I am here to tell you that God didn’t let you down and He did hear your prayers. You see we tend to think that God should miraculously heal us, especially after all the praying and scripture quoting and carrying on. Hold on to your religeous seats and pay attention:
Let’s go to Isaiah 53:3-5 – He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; and the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
Notice the last part of this scripture? It says and with His stripes we ARE healed. You are already healed.
Now go to 1 Peter 2:24 – Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Notice what Peter says here. by whose stripes, whose stripes?, Jesus stripes, ye WERE healed. Peter is looking to the past tense.
Now in both scriptures God has healed EVERYONE. I like to read it like this, by whose stripes I was healed. Yes praise God glory to His name..
These scriptures tell us that Jesus healed us, so you have been healed. But let’s examine a few things. First of all, are you concentrating on the problem or the solution? Hebrews 4:16 tells us to come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Philippians 4:6 – Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Awww so you came boldly to the throne of grace with prayer and supplication and let God know your request. Did you give God thanksgiving?
Let’s go to Mark 11:23-24 – For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
So, did you pray about your sickness and believe in your heart that you were healed? Or did you whine and moan about being sick? So you say yes I did all of that and I still had to go to the doctor. Okay let’s look in Jeremiah 8:22 – Is there no balm in Gilead; is there no physician there? Why then is not the health of the daughter of my people recovered? Remember that Luke (new testament) was a physician. You see many saints of God have gone home to be with the Lord because they thought going to the doctor was having a lack of faith in Jesus. Not so.
Isaiah 55:8-9 – For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways; saith the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts. Proverbs 3:5-6 – Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths. One more scripture to look at, 1 Peter 5:6-7 – Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.
Now my story.. back in 2019 I ended up in the hospital from a severe stomach ache, well it turned out I had cancer. I believe God saved me that day and I glorify His name. Well the doctor cut me open and removed the cancer and I have had 4 markers since and am still cancer free, praise Jesus for His healing. While I was in the hospital recovering, the nurses were giving me the regular medicines plus insulin. I figured it was normal for a persons blood sugar to go up under that kind of stress. After I got home I spent a couple more months recuperating from the surgery. I did all my follow ups and my doctor did some blood tests and she told me I had type 2 diabetes. Wow what a shock, I’m 176 pounds, 5′ 11″ and everyone told me I didn’t fit the criteria for diabetes, and yet, I have it.
Well I went to praying and believing God for my healing but it didn’t seem like anything was happening. Then one day I was on my knees before God and He said to me “read your scriptures”. So I began to read them, when I got to the book of James, God directed my eyes to James 1:17 – Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. Then He spoke to me saying that He has gifted doctors for healing and there is no shame in going to doctors while you believe for your healing.
I take insulin overnight and use diet and excersise to keep my blood sugar under control. It has been running between 150 and 180 for quite some time, but I have been praising God for my healing, and my numbers have been in the non-diabetic range. Bless God and praise His glorious name.
So in summary, take your request for healing to God, believe in your heart that you are healed, cast your care over onto Him even if it doesn’t look like anything is changing, and go to the doctor if you have to, still believing God.
As a matter of fact do this concerning every situation in your life. Glory to God His word is faithful and true just as He is. Amen? Amen.
Now make your confession about your healing, stand on the word of God, say to your mountain that in Jesus name you are healed and believe in your heart that it is so and receive your healing through faith.
